Lakhimpur Commerce College, Assam is going to organize an UGC sponsored National Seminar on Cross Border Trade on 6th and 7th November, 2009 at the college in North Lakhimpur, Assam The seminar has the following sub themes for debate and discussion:



1) Cross-Border Trade and Industrialization in NE Sates.
2) Infrastructure Development in Cross-Border Trade
3) Silk-Route: A Historical Approach to Border Trade in NE.
4) Look East Policy and Border Trade.
5) Role of NEC and DoNER in Cross Border Trade.
6) NE Insurgency and Cross Border Trade.
7) Social Change in North Eastern States through Border Trade
8) Border Trade and Development of Export Oriented Unit.
9) Sources of Finance and Cross Border Trade.

Papers are being called for presentation from academicians, teachers from universities and colleges, research scholars, Ph. D and MPhil students, professionals and entrepreneurs by the organizing committee. Abstarcts should reach by 10th October, 2009 and full paper by 25th October, 2009.

Course Updates
 Career Oriented Course
From the academic session 2008-2009, Lakhimpur Commerce College has introduced Career Oriented Course in “INSURANCE”. As per UGC guidelines the syllabus of the course has been prepared by the College of its own with the help of subject experts. The aim of the course is to create self employment and empowerment of the students will be equipped with a certificate with a conventional degree.
 Computer Accounting Courses
 The college has introduced certificate course in Computer Accounting for the for the TDC (Commerce) students. The Students will be able to equip themselves with modern Accounting Package.

 The Course will be started from the 2009-2010 Academic session on a self financial basis.
 In addition to this the computer course for Higher Secondary students (Both Arts & Commerce) will also be continued as earlier on self- sustaining basis.
